Innovate Calgary is the innovation transfer and business incubator centre for the University of Calgary. As part of the Office of the Vice-President (Research) portfolio, and as a member of the UCalgary innovation ecosystem, we work closely with researchers, faculty, and students to help bridge the gap between discovery and creating economic and societal impact. We do this by going beyond traditional technology transfer services to include focused startup support programs and services for research-intensive companies.

Overseeing the Hunter Hub for Entrepreneurial Thinking during the launching of the University's entrepreneurial strategic plan "Ahead of Tomorrow". The Hunter Hub is a community hub for activities that will support entrepreneurial student experiences, enable faculty to lead in innovation and expand a growing community of entrepreneurial and innovative thinkers. The University Innovation Quarter (UIQ) formerly known as the University Research Park — will be Calgary’s latest mixed-use innovation district, designed to cultivate bright minds on the cutting-edge of advancements in science research and programming. UIQ spans 76 acres adjacent to the University of Calgary main campus, and has an existing ecosystem of Calgary start-up companies and science, technology, and research organizations.

ENT 405 - Entrepreneurial Ecosystems The course content is focused on gaining an increased understanding of start-ups, growth strategies and tactics, within the context of customers, other businesses, and the broader setting of industries and location. We look at how resources are acquired, and how business growth has synergies with other businesses, financing strategies, and other issues.

Developed hundreds of hours of entrepreneurial classes for NYU student, faculty, and alumni entrepreneurs. Established the first fully staffed and programmed entrepreneurship space at NYU, the Leslie Entrepreneurs Lab. The lab, a collaborative skill-building space for students and faculty in the heart of the Washington Square campus, is a tremendous success and a pillar of the NYU community. Led workshops on the lean startup methodology and customer facing development. In the first year of being open, the lab has hosted over one hundred workshops, classes, and hackathons for budding entrepreneurs and has been visited over 25,000 times. Designed and built the first open prototyping space on campus which includes 3D printers and a laser cutter available to all NYU entrepreneurs.

Built programs to further the entrepreneurial capacity of MIT students. Counseled student entrepreneurs enabling them to make full use of the center's resources. Worked with little oversight from the Managing Director to run projects that became necessary throughout the year. Planned numerous entrepreneurship events, which were attended by hundreds of students and scores of mentors. Led the redevelopment of the Center’s online presence including project managing a $75,000 web project.
