Founding Team
2023 - 2023
NGO incubates the next leaders in Latin America under 25 through an educational program and community. Activities: - Assisted in organizing and managing the marketing strategy on social media. We positioned Makers as the number 1 page on LinkedIn for organic engagement and as number 2 in monthly organic growth with over 300k organic impressions. Grew the Instagram page from 200 to over 1,100 followers, achieving more than 100k organic impressions. This effort contributed to receiving 770 applicants for the 3rd cohort. - Structured and conducted the program for 2 cohorts, featuring guests from the Thiel Fellowship, Latitud, Magma Partners, Daki, Google, McKinsey, and others. - Rebuilt the entire landing page from scratch using Webflow (www.makers.build). - Assisted in organizing and running in-person events with strategic partners such as BBVA Spark, Uniandinos, and Around. - Participated in assessing candidates (Business & Coding) for the program and successfully placed 12 in high-growth startups, including Vektor, Lizza, Balam, Endeavor, Kalto, and others. Overall, I had a lot of fun. :)
Co-Host of the community
2023 - 2023
We hosted a free program and community for Gen Z Founders in Latin America just for fun. A bunch of amazing people (VCs and Founders) from San Francisco and Latin America supported us as speakers or mentors ✌️. Check it out at: https://web.archive.org/web/20230315083012/https://www.genzfellowship.com/
Co-Founder (shutdown) - Platanus Ventures 22-1
2022 - 2023
We raised money, made a lot of mistakes, and learned a ton. We ended up creating an educational program and community for content creators in Latin America with 145 people from 13 different countries. Still active :). Thanks to Massimo, Elia, Memo, Jehú and PV Team (Joaco, Andrés, Paula, Agustín)
Software Developer
2021 - 2021
Backed by Y Combinator, Beek specializes in creating valuable audio content for Latin America. I had the privilege of learning from amazing people from the Engineering and Product areas. Given the small size of the engineering team, we essentially functioned as full-stack engineers, responsible for developing features across both mobile and web platforms. Projects to which I contributed include: - Completely rebuilding our website using NextJS to enhance SEO from a technical standpoint - Resolving payment issues related to Stripe and Apple subscriptions - Customizing the onboarding process based on user metadata The stack for mobile and web development consisted of: Front-end: React JS React Native NextJS Styled-components Back-end: Ruby on Rails Apollo GraphQL PostgreSQL In addition, we used a variety of other tools such as Avo, Segment, Google Cloud, Docker, Kubernetes, Algolia, Customer.io, and Retool. My understanding of most of these tools is primarily conceptual, rather than rooted in in-depth technical expertise. Thanks a lot to Pamela & Guillermo.
Fellow & Build Weekend Winner - not a job, but I learned a ton :)
2021 - 2021
On Deck Catalyst Cohort 2. Met a lot of very, very cool young people and mentors. We participated in On Deck's Build Weekend, where out of a pool of 15+ projects we ended up winning. I was in charge of designing and building the prototype. I also applied to ODX (On Deck's Accelerator) Inaugural Cohort, where I reached the final interview. Thanks to Shriya, Katarina, and Karel.
Full-stack Developer
2020 - 2021
Kept learning by myself, and then I got the opportunity to join another National Western Life Insurance (NASDAQ: NWLI) project, where we rebuilt from scratch an API for one of their workflows with their agents. Technologies: .NET Core and Azure. Big thanks to Hugo Mancinas and Mauricio Torres for trusting me.
Software Development Engineer in Test
2020 - 2020
Joined to National Western Life Insurance (NASDAQ: NWLI) project where I was in charge of doing scripts for testing one of their products in their portal. Technologies: Javascript, Mocha, Cucumber and WebdriverIO.
Back End Developer
2020 - 2020
With all seriousness, life-changing for me. I had no idea about Software Engineering, our work consisted of completing and passing MIT's Course: Introduction to Computer Science and Programming Using Python being assessed by real Software Engineers. I learned the foundations of Software Engineering, which made a complete difference in my professional career.
Small business owner
2019 - 2020
Small online supplement business specializing in protein powder. I was generating $2,000 to $3,000 USD in GMV (GMV) per month, but the actual revenue was relatively low. For more information, visit https://www.facebook.com/suplementospony.
Construction, food truck and moving services worker 🤠
2019 - 2019
I spent 3 months doing any job that needed to be done to pay the bills. I had fun, worked a ton, learned a ton, suffered a ton, but made good memories.
Production Support
2019 - 2019
I had to learn SQL, Linux, and Shell scripting as part of my job. Besides that, I supposedly joined to CITI North America project providing support, but to be honest I wasn't doing anything.
