I'm inspired by work that attempts to put a meaningful dent in the widening wealth gap. Right now, that has me obsessed with broadening access to homeownership, especially for Low-Modest-Income homebuyers, people of color, and non-traditional household formations. Access to ownership means greater financial security; greater financial security means more freedom and joy. This personal inspiration led me to start Landed, which serves employers wanting to offer homeownership-as-a-benefit using a co-investment model known as shared appreciation down payment assistance, enabling these employers to sustainably invest their own money in a way that helps retain and attract the talent they depend on to thrive. Throughout the journey to build Landed, we've participated in Stanford's Venture Studio, Y Combinator's 2016 Winter Batch, Draper Richards Kaplan (DRK) Foundation's portfolio (the first for-profit to do so), SOCAP's entrepreneurship program, and Goldman Sachs' Launch with GS, as well as partnered with numerous financial and investment institutions including the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, Zoma Capital, Initialized Capital, OMERS Ventures, Learn Capital, Ulu Ventures, and more.
