We are building what will be the first social apps for the emerging mass medium of virtual reality. Along the way, we are also building out a set of tools for developers, including a native monetization platform, which we originally developed for mobile gaming and then recently adapted to virtual reality. Our platform reaches over 200MM monthly active users across a large network of publishers. MediaSpike has raised over $5MM from institutional investors including Andreessen Horowitz and Google Ventures, prominent angel investors Naval Ravikant and Rick Marini, as well as celebrity investors Robert Downey Jr. and Nas. Our advisory board includes luminaries such as Dave McClure, Charles Hudson, Shervin Pishevar, and Gokul Rajaram.

MediaSpike provides a monetization platform for social and mobile games.

Raised $5,200,000.00 from Google Ventures, Raptor Ventures, Inspovation Ventures, Othman Laraki, Augusta Investments, Naval Ravikant, CMEA Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, Adeyemi Ajao and 500 Global.

  • Founder & CEO

    2007 - 2011

I created the first social games on Facebook. Leveraging my extensive viral marketing experience from previous companies, (Plaxo, CareBadges, Causes), I created a set of game mechanics based on viral marketing principles and as a one-man team acquired 50MM+ users within a few months. I created the vast majority of user acquisition techniques used in every social and mobile game you see today. I was able to aggressively further my knowledge of user behavior and viral marketing by conceiving, implementing, and iterating on a huge number of growth techniques/engagement features. I typically pushed two releases a day, which allowed me to learn and adapt at a much more rapid pace than anyone else in the space. I sold these games to Ohai in March 2008.

  • Founder & CTO

    2008 - 2009

Along with Scott Hartsman, (the current CEO of Trion), co-founded the company, and played an active role in raising our Series A of over $6MM from August Capital and Rustic Canyon Ventures. We built the first-of-its-kind synchronous, isometric in-brower MMO on Facebook and continued to operate the games I had previously built. In my time there, I quadrupled the revenue from the existing games, integrated the synchronous systems across all 11 of our games (some of which were on as many as four social networks), and built an extremely talented team of 20 people.
