I am open to new projects and am currently working on: - Regional Development and marketing projects with Rocketmakers - Nutritional therapy and well-being projects for businesses locally and one-to-one - Online Teaching Fellow with the University of Bath - Peer-to-peer support and mentoring for Creative businesses with Create Growth - New projects such as The National Wellness Service and The Reinvestment Club - Events like Electra (a community where awesome women unite) and xChange, a dinner for ambitious founders
Special Projects Lead (1day/wk)
2023
Working just one day each week I support the marketing team with the development of strategy and practical delivery of key activities. Whether designing and hosting events for the community, meeting founders with technical challenges, writing blog content, or coming up with exciting new campaigns, I'm using my time to raise the profile of RM and strengthen our involvement in regional activities.
Chief Marketing Officer
2019 - 2023
As a non-traditional CMO, I work a little differently. First, I work with our Marketing Manager to keep our classic marketing activities on track - campaigns, digital, events etc, all the standard stuff. Alongside this I work across Bath and Bristol to run projects that support the entrepreneurial community, forge new connections, and help unlock solutions to the challenges that exist. I spend 1 day each week working with TechSPARK to deliver the Investment Activator Programme. As an investment activator myself, I help run events, activities and provide support to founders and investors wanting to know more about the investment opportunities in the South West. Alongside this work I am a scout for Ada Ventures, an equity fund providing bold investment for overlooked founders and markets.
Nutritional Therapist
2018
Working with clients to understand their health history, identify specific objectives, and utilise diet recommendations, lifestyle changes, and supplements to help them to find optimal health.
Investment Scout
2019
Ada Ventures finds and funds extraordinary talent-building breakthrough ideas for the hardest problems we face. We invest across climate, economic empowerment, and healthcare & aging.
Online Teaching Fellow in Entrepreneurship Management and Innovation online MSc
2020
The virtual MSc is delivered by a team of online teaching fellows. I initially wrote 8 weeks of content with 11 hours per week to help participants understand Funding and Finance related to entrepreneurship. I now regularly tutor the Funding and Finance module for students around the globe online.
Associate Director and Scale-up Enabler
2017 - 2019
As Associate Director for Engine Shed I focused on the scale-up business community. As Scale-up Enabler I explored and represented the challenges faced by fast growth companies in order to raise awareness, and to influence and encourage solutions led by the public and private sector.
Innovation, Education and Open Data Consultant
2013 - 2017
I worked with a range of organisations to build insights and drive improvement and innovation. I delivered specific outputs ranging from challenge prizes and reports to session facilitation, research and recommendations. During this time I completed extended contract work with GODAN, Whole Education, Skills Route and the Open Data Institute and shorter consultancy projects for Future First, Malaysian Startup Bootcamp, ODI Train the Trainer and United World Colleges amongst others.
Innovation and Product Manager
2015 - 2016
Working closely with the team at MIME Consulting who originally founded and incubated Skills Route, I joined to test, launch and grow the free platform into UK Schools. Skills Route is a web-based careers, information and guidance tool that helps 15/16 year olds make better informed decisions about their future education and career choices by bringing together a unique combination of wellbeing, value-added and national pupil database data.
Programme Manager - Open Data Challenge Series
2013 - 2015
Run in partnership with Nesta, The Open Data Challenge Series is a series of seven challenge prizes designed to generate innovative and sustainable solutions to social challenges using open data. Once the Challenge Series was complete I spent time designing and facilitating a range of workshops and events for the ODI and became accredited as an Open Data Institute trainer.
