Research Assistant - Neuropharmacology
2014 - 2015
Investigated the effect of ethanol on the dopaminergic reward pathway in a mouse model. Managed mice care, ran operant chambers, conducted aseptic stereotaxic survival surgery, and prepared brains for electrophysiology experiments and histological staining. Conducted independent project testing the biocompatibility and neuronal uptake of DNA-templated silver nanoclusters injected into the mouse nucleus accumbens.

Synthesized nanoparticles and tested their catalytic properties. Worked extensively with super-paramagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles and fluorescent DNA-templated silver nanoclusters. Led and mentored new students in the lab, teaching relevant laboratory techniques and ensuring safety.
