DOMO Invest is a leading venture capital firm in Brazil that invests in best in class entrepreneurs. We back early-stage technology startups, helping them grow faster and establish themselves in competitive markets. We started from the collective desire of our founding partners to contribute to the success of the next generation of Brazilian entrepreneurs. DOMO’s multi-disciplinary team is supported by its Advisory Board who’s members have solid and proven track-record in creating, investing, advising and financing tech startups of all sizes. Our GPs have thrived as entrepreneurs, having founded companies such as Buscapé in Brazil. The team was also among the early investors in well renowned start-ups such as Loggi, Gympass, Hotmart, among others.

Mobility in the big cities is a mess, tech startups are changing how we make it easier going from A to B, but when we talk about median to long distances UBER-like solutions don't prove successful. Cases like this or when multiple stops are needed or even when you must use your trunks still represent around 10-15% of metropolitan car users. The last impediment of car ownership is down with TURBI. They create a huge network of more than 300 cars stops along São Paulo that make it possible for all "paulistas" to get a car on demand (our tagline). That it is a great idea that I have the pleasure to join as their first professional investor, when there were a lot of doubts and less than 40 cars available. Now with more than 650 cars we are convinced that betting on a huge market with the right founders is the best mode to do Venture Capital.

Alternative investments such as Private Investments and Project Financing make up an important part of the portfolio of wealthy individuals globally. In Brazil, it is no different. Yields for this asset class are commonly correlated with the capacity of the investor to analyse deals and networking capabilities to access them. These two factors make alternative investments available only to investors with deeper pockets. For small and mid-sized projects, this isn't the case. Investment banks and international boutiques shy away from smaller deals since there is hardly any profitability for them. That is where tech makes all the difference! The founders of Bloxs had access to hundreds of financial projects before founding the startup. They came together on a bet that they could scale the the origination and distribution of projects and build an online community to make sure the deals come through. So far (April/20) the team has been able to fund almost R$ 10 million in projects and has given retail investors the opportunity to access deals at attractive yields that, until recently, was not a reality for them. It has been a pleasure to help them strive and fulfil their dream!
