Given the inter-connected nature of this world with the broader market infrastructure space he is frequently operating in the intersect point where the financial services industry meets the technology, processing, exchanges, clearing, electronic trading, payments, and BPO industries hiring Board Directors, CEO's and General Managers for these “FinTech” businesses. When Gavin joined Heidrick & Struggles in June 2000, he was in the International Technology Practice working for smaller high growth technology companies, and he has continued to execute work throughout his career with a wide spectrum of businesses from the smallest start-ups to very large complex global multi-nationals. Given the desire for Boards of companies to refresh their Independent Directors with a new generation of diverse talent that “gets” the potentially disruptive effect of new technologies and emerging “convergent” economies, he has worked with a number of clients around the world to assess the emerging pipeline of Board talent with appropriate Corporate Governance expertise as well as the ability to add value when thinking about these topics.
