Bioengineering PhD program: Developed quantitative sequencing methodologies and data analysis techniques to enhance microbiome based discoveries and clinical translation. Worked on preclinical and clinical applications connected to the oral, small-intestinal, and large-intestinal microbiome with specific work on small-intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO), Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), Primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC), Celiac Disease, and the gut-brain axis.
Fellow
2021 - 2021
Accepted to 2021 Summer Fellows Program. Active member of the tools/diagnostics team. Supported sourcing and diligence and engaged with portfolio companies. Completed individual projects on emerging diagnostic areas.
Engineering Co-op
2016 - 2017
Oral drug delivery R&D from formulation design to in-vivo studies. Generated novel capsule and pill formulations of peptide drugs. Evaluated formulation designs in pig models.
Research Assistant
2013 - 2017
Worked with microfluidic droplet technology to form solid shell polymersomes for encapsulation of bacterial cells
Research Assistant
2012 - 2013
Coded estimation methods for transport properties of combustion reactions in python for the software RMG in Professor Richard West's Lab.
Bioinformatics Co-op
2015 - 2015
Designed high throughput RNA sequencing methodology from sample prep to sequence analysis. Automated sequence identification and analysis from mixed samples through python scripts.
Research Assistant
2014 - 2015
Worked with phage display to discover cancer target specific peptides to be used with PET imaging. Grew and injected tumor cells into mice for bio-distribution studies. Progressed software used alongside an endoscopy to improve detection rates.
