  • Impact Investing + Corp Dev

    2021 - Current

We're on a mission to help students succeed. We focus on innovative solutions in postsecondary education and the future of work, with a particular lens on solutions positively impacting underserved students and communities. We invest (check sizes up to 20M+ varying by stage) in seed, series A-C, follow-on growth equity, as well as conduct strategic M&A transactions into our family of companies. I'm always looking for amazing double bottom line (impact + financial returns) companies to support. Please send a short note and deck my way if I can help. And bonus points from me if you're an underrepresented minority (eg refugee/woman/lgbtq/poc/veteran/have a disability/etc) in your field, would love to connect and learn more about you/your work!

StartingBloc believes that growing transformative leadership is one of the greatest leverage points across all systemic challenges: climate change, social justice, poverty, education, and more. Leaders shape public narrative, organizational design, and more broadly, cultural norms. StartingBloc believes that investing in people, both their personal development and their professional skill set, is how we might accelerate the pace of cultural shift towards a more life sustaining, thriving world.

  • US Activator

    2017 - 2019

SheEO is a global initiative focused on building an innovative new model to finance, support, and celebrate women-led Ventures that are creating a better world. The signature initiative #RadicalGenerosity calls upon 1000 Activators in 1000 cities each donating $1000 (+$100 for admin costs) to create a $1B perpetual fund that will support women entrepreneurs for generations to come. Selected women-led ventures are provided with zero-interest loans and access to the women's networks, buying power, and expertise to grow their businesses. Loans are paid back over 5 years and then loaned out again, creating a perpetual fund which will be passed on to our daughters, granddaughters, great-granddaughters, and beyond.

  • Impact/Venture Investments & Programs

    2017 - 2018

Founded by billionaire inventor Dr. Gary K. Michelson who holds over 950 patents, the Michelson 20 Million Minds Foundation supports and invests in leading-edge entrepreneurs, technologies, models, policies, and initiatives with the potential to improve equity, access, and efficacy in postsecondary education (higher ed, workforce development, lifelong learning, et al).

  • Impact/Venture Investments & Programs

    2017 - 2018

A partnership between Michelson 20MM Foundation and Runway Incubator, Michelson Runway is the world’s first social impact edtech accelerator dedicated to supporting innovations in higher education and career training. Are you working on something that improves equity, access, and efficacy in postsecondary education (higher ed, workforce development, and/or lifelong learning), let's chat to see how we can help amplify your impact and success. While our investment criteria is broader, I'm personally interested in the applications of frontier tech (AI, AR/VR, and blockchain, et al) to postsecondary education innovations and better serving refugee, immigrant, and/or other minority populations. Additionally, I'd like to support and invest in more female founders and other minority groups, and to serve as a voice and advocate for traditionally marginalized groups in the tech and financing industries.
