    Amplitude became a public company in 2021 - an incredible company with an amazing team and product. We're helping companies build better products. Amplitude is the analytics platform of choice for many top product teams around the world including Microsoft, PayPal, Square and Dropbox. Backed by top VCs Sequoia, IVP, Battery Ventures and Benchmark. I lead our engineering and technology organizations, including engineering, infrastructure, devops, growth, quality, infosec and IT. Grew our team 4x in just over 2 years. We brought in great leadership and amazing engineers to build out new critical functions for scale and growth. Launched many new products and features including Nova (in house behavioral graph DB and query engine), Behavioral Analysis, Predictions, Accounts, Integrations, Sampling and numerous cost reduction initiatives. Joined at Series B and lead us through our Series C (IVP $30M) and Series D (Sequoia $80M) as the company grew from 60 to 300+ employees.

I lead a stellar engineering team located in San Francisco, London and Buenos Aires. Career Highlights: - Successfully lead product engineering through 100% annual growth. Multiple funding rounds totaling $259M and a most recent $128M round from top tier investors including NEA, Lightspeed and Salesforce Ventures. - Built and grew the product engineering team 4x in 3 years from 30 to over 125 - Grew our product portfolio 3x from 5 products to over 15. - Successfully launched numerous new products for the Anypoint platform including API Platform, Analytics, Runtime Management, DataWeave, Cloud On-Premise, Exchange, Cloud/iPaaS services, Data Gateway, Cloud Messaging. - Moved the engineering team to more agile and nimble development, from bi-annual releases to almost continuous cloud releases and bi-monthly releases for on-premise software. - Put in place many operational improvements allowing us to scale to trillions of transactions per month and thousands of integration applications hosting millions of APIs. - Winner of 2013 and 2014 CODiE Award for Best Integration Solution - Cloudhub (2013), Anypoint API Platform (2014).

    Acquired by Vista in 2017, now Khoros https://khoros.com Lithium provides a revolutionary Social CRM platform enabling enterprises to interact with their customers on the social web. Lithium powers online customer communities for enterprises, allowing them to drive word-of-mouth marketing and reducing support costs. I was responsible for leading the architecture and engineering of Lithium's SaaS-based social CRM platform supporting over 250+ enterprise communities, 20+ million users and over 2 billion page views a month, including large scale customers such as AT&T, Sony, Linksys, Salesforce, MTV and Paypal. I ran the engineering team comprising of 35+ engineers and architects responsible for the technology platform over 4 key areas – Platform, Application, Social Media Monitoring and Analytics. Delivered over 25 new product releases – one every month – and each one comprising of dozens of innovative new features and product improvements. Launched many different platforms and applications including Web apps, iPhone App, Mobile features, Social Media Monitoring, Platform APIs, Developer APIs and self-service customer tooling for customization. Created a highly collaborative, happy and effective team working on short AGILE sprints. Improved engineering best practices through continuous integration, automated testing, frequent releases, performance automation and automating provisioning. Handled all hiring, relationships with recruiters and interviewing. Built up a great team of engineers, mentored new developers and got them up to speed quickly. Responsible for leading the team through many growth periods including Series C Funding of $18M and multiple acquisitions requiring team and technology integration. Lithium is funded by leading venture capital firms Emergence Capital Partners, Shasta Ventures and Benchmark Capital.

    CTO for an early-stage startup developing a social platform for travel, funded by the Irish government through its VC arm. Partnered with Digital Enterprise Research Institute, Ireland (DERI) to develop IP for semantic web-mining engine and user recommendations platform for the travel space. A great experience in building an early-stage company.

    2007 - 2008

    SaaS-based enterprise travel platform used by the largest airlines and travel companies in the world including American Airlines, Virgin America, and JetBlue. I lead the architecture and engineering of the platform handling millions of transactions/day and over $1 billion in combined travel booking revenue/year.

    2005 - 2007

    Epiphany was a pioneer of customer relationship management (CRM) software. Went public, later acquired by SSA Global and INFOR. Architect for CRM enterprise product lines. Responsible for leading architecture and engineering in a number of key efforts including core J2EE platform, BPM integration, UI frameworks, ORM persistence, and web services.

  • Architect, Director of Engineering

    1997 - 2004

    Architect for one of the largest online securities trading systems in the world schwab.com with over 7mm active users. Developed the first Java/J2EE based trading system at Schwab. Lead the architecture and development of the International Order Routing System – a global trading/FX hub integrating international broker-dealer systems and enabling multi-country trading. Took our US-based trading platform and re-deployed it internationally for European (London Stock Exchange) and Asian (Tokyo Stock Exchange) exchanges to help grow our business in new international markets.
