Performed data collection, calculations, analysis, mapping work, and researched relevant water policy in order to evaluate the best options for a sustainable water supply system in rural South Africa. Collaborated with six team members to produce a 40 page thesis that designed, specified, and developed a slow sand filter, distribution system, and implementation plan for a sustainable water supply system in a rural village in Limpopo, South Africa. Awarded the Jefferson Public Citizens Research Grant of $30,000 and travelled to South Africa for 7 weeks throughout the summer to implement a water supply system that would bring clean water to a village of 1,000 community members.

Collaborated on a 20 person eligibility business rules team that worked closely with the client and created rule logic that served as the framework for an efficient, electronic system to help evaluate immigration filings. Created decision tables, performed policy citations, wrote rule logic, and determined rule workflows that were entered into the Rules Catalog Tool and used to develop the system. Coordinated Quality Assurance Reviews of all eligibility business rules created over a six month period by the entire team. Participated in IBM’s “Integration Week” of face to face meetings between the client and IBM to review all rules.
