    1997 - 2014

    Start up and build a team to establish an R&D plus manufacturing site of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient CDMO for the Global New Drug & Generic Market. Expanded to China with the second site. Developed up to US$170MM of total sales in ~65countries and >200 customers worldwide via routine trade shows, customer plant visits and visiting customers. Took company public in Taiwan with valuation exceeded US$2 billion. Total staff around 1000. Led the investment in 2 important CDMO customers which later on went public in Taiwan. Developed long term strategy including building injectable capabilities to maximize the valuation of company’s niche capabilities in cytotoxic API as well as peptides. Represented company to take leadership roles at various industrial associations. Developed up to 10% of foreign investors via frequent road shows. Established internal professional management training programs and developed >120 management & leadership in all functional areas as well as the succession plan. Including the initial funding raised >US$120 millions from corporate ventures plus government investment fund, and secured >$130 million low interest long term government loans.

    Working with 3 partners developed the business plan for ScinoPharm Taiwan including fundraising, building start up team, developing process technology for key products, arranging infrastructures in Taiwan, developing customer awareness, etc.

  • Corporate VP, Operations

    1981 - 1994

    Starting as Director of Technical Services in charge of pharmaceutical process development & Scale up and technology transfer, process validation & GMP training. Then in charge of Palo Alto Plant Production, products including solid oral, semi-solid dosage forms for topical, oral contraceptives, growth hormones and NSAIDs, etc. Plant staff over 400 people. Then promoted to Corporate level in charge of Operations in total of 8 plants in Puerto Rico, Canada, Mexico, UK, France, Spain, Korean & US including Production, QA & Technical Services. Products supplying worldwide. Also in charge of Technology Transfer with >80 distributors worldwide.

  • Plant Manager

    1979 - 1981

    Build a plant in Silicon Valley for final processing steps of silicon wafer, perform quality controls, product warehouse inventory control and customer order and shipping. Customers include >20 major semiconductor manufacturers such as Intel, AMD, etc In charge of customer services and interaction with corporate supply sites( St.Louis, NC and KL) concerning product transfer and quality Assurances.

  • Director of QC

    1974 - 1979

    Starting as Sr. Analytical Chemist in Quality Control for Synthetic Fiber production, promoted to be Manager of Analytical Services in charge of trouble shooting, development of analytical methods. Then moved to Director if Quality Control of plant production.
