Voting systems. Condorcet methods, dynamic ballots, fast provisional rankings, anti-fraud. Anti-spam/abuse. Used Hadoop to route out fraud and abuse. Cut my teeth on machine learning techniques. Internet applications work. Built web programming toolkits, DB tools, etc.

Founding Engineer

2006 - 2007

Online voting back-end and front-end. Lots of web development framework and database work. Also hacked on a QuickTime for Java-based webcam recorder/uploader for Mac.

Staff Engineer

2003 - 2006

Helped build fault-tolerant in-memory data store which was used in BEA WebLogic SIP Application Server. Also worked in CTO office leading Java API standards. Was BEA's alternate representative to the Java Community Process Executive Committee.

Senior Staff Engineer

2001 - 2003

Research Software Engineer, Sun Labs. Distributed search, peer-to-peer systems. Lead Architect, Liberty Alliance. Fortunately for the world, OpenID and OAuth have superseded most of what we did there.
