AWS Greengrass seamlessly extends AWS onto devices so they can act locally on the data they generate, while still using the cloud for management, analytics, and durable storage. I founded the AWS IoT team, wrote the original product and business plan, and got it approved by the CEO of Amazon. Listed as an inventor on multiple AWS IoT patent filings. Helped grow the team from 1 to 50+ people (and rising). AWS IoT is a managed cloud platform that lets connected devices easily and securely interact with cloud applications and other devices. Product - Simple Notification Service (SNS)
2012 - 2014
Product lead for the Amazon Simple Notification Service (SNS). Launched mobile push, and grew it from zero to billions of daily messages (possibly the largest mobile push intermediary in the world). Responsibilities included defining the roadmap and business plan for mobile push notifications. Previously also was the product lead for Amazon Simple Queue Service (SQS). Accelerated the growth rate of this powerful service that's been around since 2004.

• Evaluated competitive app store strategies for a $230B software company, identifying opportunity to increase client’s app catalog size 100% by leveraging existing, proprietary technology. • Managed product development and launch activities of industry-first iPad app for a $40B Cable Company. Advised CTO and coordinated the efforts of internal developers and business stakeholders. The app was downloaded 360,000 times in its first month of availability. • Designed strategy and operating model for a social VC fund of $3B NGO. • Developed revenue-planning framework to project capacity of 250k partner companies for a $50B ecosystem. Personally trained country managers to use it in Asia, Middle East and Western Europe.
