The foundation helps to close the gap between the annual state funding and the dollars needed by the district to keep Hermosa an award-winning school district. In 2019, HBEF raised a record $1.3M to pay for additional teacher salaries and all of the additional enrichment programs like STEM, music, PE, library and more.

As the PR Manager for THQ Wireless, one of the pioneers in the mobile gaming industry, Jonalyn oversaw all corporate public relations efforts for the division - from strategy to thought leadership to product launches and more. While at THQ, she executed the company’s first global product launch for the Star Wars suite of mobile products, managed the overall strategy, and worked directly with the communications teams from Lucasfilm and Cingular, the exclusive carrier at the time. While under her leadership, Jonalyn's PR team implemented a new product reviews program that resulted in a 20% improvement in overall scores for mobile games across NBA, MLB, Sponge Bob, Hello Kitty and WWE brands.
