Cal Fund is the University of California affiliated Venture Capital Fund. Kurt founded the fund in 2022 to support student, alumni, and faculty founders from the UNiversity of California ecosystem. 50% of GP carry goes back to UC Berkeley Entrepreneurship programs

I teach Entrepreneurship and Innovation to Berkeley Haas MBAs, undergraduates, and grad students from other Berkeley departments. As part of The Lester Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, MBA 295A and UGBA 195P have launched many successful Silicon Valley startups that began as semester projects from this class.

The Karl F. Beyer Scholarship supports up to two years of study in any graduate degree at the University of Oxford, Brasenose College. Beyer Scholars should not only achieve academic, athletic, and leadership excellence, but demonstrate strength of character, courage in their convictions, and the ability to make difficult choices. Scholars should leverage their experience and relationships forged at Oxford to further contribute to the United States Navy and Marine Corps and should lead a lifetime of service committed to their communities and in defense of the United States Constitution.

Kurt is an advisor and part owner of Parallel Advisors, a financial advisory firm with over $6 billion under management. My main focus is to advise entrepreneurs and startups in Silicon Valley. Not only have I been involved in building companies, but my research, writings, and lectures, have been focused on technical innovation since 1997.
