    Led an amazing team (formally we7) of over 100 experts with the shared vision to create the UK's most popular streaming music service with a free radio and low price subscription model. Owned by Tesco as part of the digital portfolio, we grew to 2.5m listeners within 18 months and then sold the company to Guvera, an international streaming service already live in 20 markets who wanted a strong presence to expand into Europe.

    Following the acquisition of GMV by Sainsbury's took responsibility to lead the team responsible for online entertainment including physical ecommerce and digital content. Closed deal with ROVI to develop digital video service due to launch in 2012.

    2010 - 2013

    Restructured and then sold digital media startup into UKs second biggest retailer Sainsbury's in Oct 2011 to form the platform for Sainsbury's online entertainment ecommerce and digital media operations. Took the entire team across to become Sainsbury's employees. Before the acquisition Media Vault provided white label entertainment services for retailers, CE manufacturers and consumer facing businesses such as mobile operators. Services covered entertainment data provision, e-commerce platform and digital media distribution providing a full turn-key solution for all online and digital media content (ebooks, music and film). We also provided all the related services from merchandising, licensing, marketing, customer service and physical product supply.

    Led the acquisition of majority stake in Anobii, the social recommendations ebook community. Acted as MD through acquisition and onboarding and then appointed Tim Lennox as MD reporting to me. The ebooks business was added to the growing portfolio of digital entertainment as part of our expansion strategy.

    Jan 08 to Oct 10 * Working within Windows Mobile division (MCB) with Premium Mobile Experiences (PMX) team developing advanced scenarios around Social Networking, Media, Advertising and Gaming on mobile devices. * Responsible for striking partnership deals in Europe with social networks (Facebook, Bebo, Myspace, StudiVZ, Hyves and Tuenti), local ad data partners and with operator and internal products (Zune) to integrate into KIN and Windows Phone. * Managed the targeting and portfolio management of apps for the launch of Windows Phone 7 July 07 to Jan 08 * Responsible for driving the adoption of HD DVD format in Europe in partnership with consumer electronics manufacturers, content owners, retailers and production companies with focus on HDi implementation into digital film (VOD and EST) on multiple platforms.

    * Led business development to the off-road sector (mining & quarrying, construction, waste management and agriculture) through selecting key companies to target, conducting proof of benefits programmes to show the savings that can be achieved, and negotiating commercial terms and product roll out * Responsible for all marketing and PR for the business

    2004 - 2006

    * Full P&L responsibility for all of HMV's online, wireless and in-store digital retail operations. Reporting to the UK & Ireland MD, with responsibility for a department of 22 staff split between product and marketing and software development. * Developed and launched HMV’s digital service and integrated the sale of new digital products into HMV's 240 high street retail stores in the UK and Ireland. * Closed licensing deals with all music companies and partnership deal with MusicNet. * Developed new music retail platforms comprising a browser based download store hmvdigital.com, and a Viiv compatible media centre digital music application. * Expanded HMV Digital’s retail offering to include a film download service (offering ownership and rental models), as well a mobile games download service
