    Facilitated the re-capitalization of Imperium in 2008 after a shuttered IPO and joined the Board as a pro-active director. Assembled a controlling interest in the company and oversaw numerous capital, production, management and supply chain improvements. Successfully sold the facility in 2015 to publicly-traded Renewable Energy Group (REGI) in an asset purchase and earn-out with targeted shareholder distributions in excess of $70MM. Retained as Executive Chairman to oversee the earn-out and wind-down of shell entities post-close.

    Founding board member of this 501(c)(3) entity chartered to improve rigor in high school curriculum and increase student enrollment in AP/IB classes. Secured outside resources to assist teachers in AP/IB efforts & certification and implemented a highly successful business/industry mentoring program for participating students. Later focused efforts on increasing STEM curriculum enrollment and career counselling across all gender and socio-economic groups. Played an active role in the entity’s pursuit and ultimate award of a $13MM NMSI grant. Our group hired an executive chair and built out infrastructure to administer the NMSI grant, but sadly had to forfeit the grant when we were unable to reach consensus with the state teachers’ union on the implementation of incentive payments.

    2009 - 2013

    Coordinated the successful acquisition of the largest ethanol production facility on the west coast out of a Chapter 7 bankruptcy for ~$30MM. Co-assembled a world class management and operations team and secured requisite environmental permitting and regulatory approvals for deep water terminalizing and trans-loading of biofuels and domestic crude. Negotiated and consummated the sale of the entire facility to Global Partners LP in 2012 for ~$95MM.

    Active Board member, investor and Chairman of Southwest Washington's premier economic development council. The CREDC is a private-public partnership of over 130 investors and strategic partners working together to advance the economic vitality of Clark County through business relocation, growth, and innovation.

    2008 - 2011

    Facilitated the re-capitalization of PV Powered after a legacy M&A transaction stalled in 2009. Took a controlling interest in the company, secured requisite debt and equity funding, refreshed management options and funded capital improvements necessary to commercialize a world class, state of the art commercial-scale inverter. Took over as chairman and worked closely with a high quality management team to improve operations and financial performance. Negotiated and consummated the sale of the company to publicly traded Advanced Energy (AEIS) in 2010 for $90MM.
