Assessed intellectual property, evaluated market potential, explored competitive landscape, and recommended development strategy for life science technologies developed in Harvard labs. I have advised on commercial development of a wide range of therapeutic modalities and disease areas, including immunology, oncology, rare disease, metabolic disease, and chronic pain.
Graduate Student, David Ginty Lab
2015 - 2021
During my PhD, I used a multi-disciplinary strategy of genetic, electrophysiology, and data science approaches to dissect spinal cord neural circuits underlying perception of touch and pain. The overarching goal of this research is to help better understand neural circuits perturbed in conditions such as mechanical allodynia, neuropathies, and heightened sensitivity in Autism spectrum disorders.
Graduate Teaching Assistant, Neurobiology of Disease
2018 - 2018
Graduate Teaching Assistant, Developmental and Molecular Neurobiology
2017 - 2017
Vice President of Activate
2018 - 2020
Conceived and co-developed boot-camp program for Harvard life science entrepreneurs. Between 2018 and 2020, this program guided sixteen scientific teams through workshops in intellectual property, competitive landscape, and operations strategy, culminating in a final pitch day attended by leading VCs and investors in the Greater Boston area.
Executive Director
2016 - 2019
The Journal of Emerging Investigators, Inc. (JEI) is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to enhancing scientific literacy in middle and high school students. JEI encourages students to independently pursue research, compels them to think more critically about their work, and provides opportunities to fully engage in the scientific process by publishing in a real science journal. During my tenure as Executive Director, our team: • Expanded JEI's staff to over 250 editors and reviewers at over 60 universities (150% increase). • Improved student educational experiences (self-reported) and publication yield to over 80 articles per year (4x increase). • Launched a professional manuscript submission and manuscript management platform that halved average time-to-publication (from 11 to 5 months). • Implemented organization-wide standard operating procedures to ensure consistent research mentorship experiences to over 500 students each year. • Expanded yearly fundraising and operating budget to $80,000 (over 40x increase).
Research Assistant, Maria Lehtinen Lab
2012 - 2014
Studied signaling roles of the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) during development of the mammalian neocortex, using complementary strategies of quantitative mass spectrometry and RNA sequencing to lend insight into the identity and origin of signaling factors within the CSF.
