As General Manager of an organization of 200+ people, I was responsible for all domestic and international business operations, ranging from pricing, sales & marketing, brand development, product & technology, customer support, to finance & strategy of mobile.international GmbH. This company owns and operates automotive classifieds sites in 9 languages in Germany (mobile.de), France (automobile.fr), Italy (automobile.it), Poland (mobile.eu), and Romania (mobile.ro). mobile.de is Germany’s leading automotive classifieds site with more than 35,000 registered car dealers, 1.4 million available listings, and 64 million monthly website visits. mobile.de was acquired by eBay in 2004 for €121M and is now part of the eBay Classifieds Group, the global leader in online classifieds. In year 2, the scope increased and I was additionally responsible for eBay Kleinanzeigen (largest general classifieds site in Germany) and eBay annunci (#2 general classifieds site in Italy).

In this general management role based out of Sydney (Australia) and San Jose (California), I was initially responsible for a start-up like team of approx. 5 people and eventually for an organization of 60+ people in monetization, sales & marketing, product & technology and customer support for eBay’s local classifieds (Kijiji & Gumtree brands) initially for 7 and eventually for 12 countries globally (US, Canada, Australia, South Africa, Poland, Singapore, Hong Kong, New Zealand, Taiwan, Japan; India & China until spin-off to local partners).
