Co-Founder of €3M Education Fund + Chairman of Supervisory Board at Good Deed Foundation
2018
Good Deed Education Fund is €3 million venture philanthropy fund founded by the new generation of Estonian tech entrepreneurs. Education Fund will support initiatives that solve acute problems in the education sector. The main issues the Education Fund addresses are: ● Leadership quality in schools ● The average age of teachers is constantly increasing (50% over 50 years old) ● The slow adoption of innovative teaching and learning practices. ● The youth drop-out rate after the mandatory level (9 years); not graduating from the next education level. ● The low levels of STEAM skills acquired from school. We are looking for initiatives that solve these problems in a measurable way. Through the initiatives we will be looking for ways to increase the quality of education together with leaders from different sectors - public, private, third sector. Additionally to the fund, entrepreneurs also commit their time and brain power to solve challenges within Estonian education. We have received over 150 project submissions and funded 20 initiatives. https://heategu.ee/educationfund
