    LGO internships provide an industrial “laboratory” for research on operations management and engineering. Students use cutting-edge advancements to tackle tangible solutions that benefit the host company. Internship research forms the basis for the MIT master’s thesis, which is a dual-degree academic paper.

  • Captain, Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL)

    1994 - 1998

    Director, Mid-Infrared Semiconductor Laser Program. Responsible for a $6 million/year advanced laser program, including direct supervision of 8 scientists. Oversight of over 50 personnel from four agencies and an industry partner. Awarded USAF Commendation and Achievement Medals for outstanding leadership that resulted in successfully productizing a next generation defensive laser system for use on military aircraft.

    1990 - 1994

    Partnership between MIT and industry. It allows MIT students to pursue a leading-edge industry project while simultaneously working towards the completion of their Masters thesis. Work performed at Texas Instruments Central Research Laboratory (CRL).
