Helm is a team of scientists, designers, engineers, and campaigners. We are building a data and technology platform for organizers and issue advocates. We design and execute experiments to better understand human civic behavior, determine which interventions drive impact, and scale them toward a more participatory democracy.
CEO and Co-Founder (acquired by Helm)
2016 - 2020
I founded The Tuesday Company after working on Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign to solve problems I had seen with volunteer management and voter contact in the 2016 election. Over the last four years we pioneered what became known as ‘relational organizing’ technology in the political ecosystem and worked with 40 out of 41 winning Democratic congressional races who won in Republican districts in 2018, Kamala Harris, and national non-profit organizations like the League of Conservation Voters and Protect Our Winters. We created two consumer facing products with over 1MM users. I raised over $4MM of investment from amazing impact focused investors like Reid Hoffman and Chris Sacca. With the election of Joe Biden we were acquired by Helm.
Field Organizer
2016 - 2016
Built and managed a volunteer organization that was 1,000% larger than the campaign’s stated goals. As a resulted, received an expanded area of responsibility including Pontiac, one of the highest priority cities in the state. Consistently had 50+ volunteers making 5,000-7,000 phone calls per week Scheduled 896 Get Out the Vote volunteer shifts, more than any other organizer in Michigan. This massive volunteer base knocked over 40,000 doors, enabling Democrats to hold the traditionally swing Oakland County by the same margin as 2012 and the traditionally Republican city of Birmingham going blue. Fostered relationships with community leaders, faith leaders and local political candidates to supplement our volunteer network.
