Guest
2016 - 2017
I took a sabbatical from building to research art, media, philosophy and culture at the UdK in Berlin with the Lensbased class and the research center for proxy politics led by Prof. Hito Steyerl.
CTO
2011 - 2016
Real time algorithmic trading boutique hedge fund. As CTO I built the full stack of this algorithmic hedge fund from the ground up. I hired, trained and managed a team from junior developers to highly experienced researchers. I coordinated research and development across the organization and to the executive stakeholders. I solved challenges involving data intensive computation, performance critical systems and financial systems' reliability and integrity. I solved problems in the fields of data science, statistics, signal processing and machine learning.
Senior Consultant
2011 - 2011
Orsan was a medical technologies company which pioneered a data driven system for the non intrusive preemptive detection of brain aneurysms. With Orsan I led the development of the data engineering and data science pipelines across the business products.
Senior Consultant
2009 - 2011
With Sun (then acquired by Oracle) I worked alongside system architects in building solutions for Sun's Java framework for embedded platforms. As part of my work I guided a team of senior engineers through tackling performance critical challenges in the fields of networking, graphics and OS.
Co-Founder and CPO
2008 - 2009
Spent a year building AI agents for video-games, envisioned to be trained by gamers and traded on a digital assets marketplace.
Computer Vision Researcher
2007 - 2008
I worked in the Tel Aviv University Computer Vision Lab under Prof. Lior Wolf to form the founding team of a university spin out computer vision start-up. My core focus was leading software development for a near-realtime video processing system, using AI to reshape cinematic scenes in real time to fit dynamic mobile displays. I implemented in C++ highly performant algorithms from Matlab proofs of concept. The solution required application and optimization of canonical vision algorithms in C++ and GPGPU utilizing the then newly released NVIDIA CUDA.
Senior Graphics Engine Developer
2006 - 2007
Simigon was a pioneer in flight simulators (building on the classic Jane's IAF: Israeli Air Force video game from 1998). At Simigon I collaborated with the graphics engine team lead in defining a new generation for the company's Ogre3D based graphics engine. I built a scalable and robust architecture anticipating future features and capabilities; and guided engineers in tasks ranging from UML design to C++ implementation and optimization of the various system components.
Senior Software Engineer
2004 - 2006
With Zoran (previously Emblaze) I led integration and refactoring of a multimedia framework for a real-time embedded ThreadX/ARM mobile platform; and designed and optimized a robust system handling various audio and video codecs. The solution was developed for high quality mass-production, and consequently deployed in over 5 million devices worldwide. Challenges included severe runtime and memory constraints, while supporting a robust and scalable architecture.
Senior Software Engineer
1997 - 2003
I worked for 6 years in the '81, the elite technological unit of the Israeli Intelligence. Through my various roles I led architecture, design and development of software systems in C, C++ and Delphi; over Unix and Windows based real time and embedded systems, among others, handling anything from back-end performance to UX and usability challenges.
