    A venture capital firm with a portfolio of more than twenty early-stage innovative startups in USA and India. As COO, spearheaded the launch of the firm's inaugural institutional fund, targeting an ambitious $100MM (prev. fund $8MM). Crafted key fund materials, including PPM, DDQ, LPA, and investor decks, and innovated a dual fund structure to cater to AI and QP investors within regulatory frameworks. Efforts culminated in three successful fund closes within nine months, securing over 80 individual subscriptions. Executed two portfolio investments, one of which involved a novel non-pari-passu structured, pre-fund launch investment between a warehoused deal and an SPV.

Investments include Big Basket (India's largest online grocery company), PepperFry (India's largest online furniture company), Antuit (Big-data analytics company) and Zivame (lingerie e-tailer). Led the transition of investor base from high-net-worth individuals to institutional investors, a strategic shift that involved extensive marketing and relationship management. Established and managed the U.S. office, overseeing investor relations for various investment structures, including co-mingled funds, extension funds, and co-investments. Managed critical vendor relationships and ensuring compliance across jurisdictions.

    Kotak Mahindra Inc, is the US subsidiary of Kotak Mahindra Bank, the third largest public sector bank in India, with total assets exceeding $12 billion. Developed a 2,500+ institutional investor prospect list with a targeted approach for high conversion rates. Successfully attracted the first endowment investor to the fund, ending a nearly decade-long absence of such investorsRevamped the sales process, securing substantial investments and doubling one fund’s AUM, with two LP introductions that yielded >$100 million each. Managed the liquidation of a client's large illiquid GDR portfolio, employing conversions and FX derivatives for risk mitigation. Assisted clients with navigating complex QFI and FPI regulatory requirements for Indian equity market access. FINRA Series 7 and Series 63 licensed.

    Sandstone was an India focused hedge fund, with $1.2 billion in peak AUM. Led the analytics function – portfolio analysis, performance attribution, valuation, and macro analysis. In addition, also led the investor relations function at Sandstone and served as the primary contact for investors (primarily large endowments and foundations, multi-family offices, large single family offices, pension funds, fund of hedge funds and some high net worth individuals). Achieved exceptional client retention (<3% redemption even as competing funds closed due to redemptions) during a period of extreme portfolio volatility. Organized a week long Investor Conference in India. Led the team to build a CRM system and an automated MIS platform. Speaker engagements at conferences, roadshows and annual meetings.

    Spider Management Company managed the endowment and foundation assets for the University of Richmond and other non-profits, totaling over $3.2 billion (2008). Generalist working across asset classes (public, hedge, private, VC) and geographies on a top performing portfolio (ranked amongst the top 5 percentile returns over the 15 year period) that won the 2008 Large Endowment of the Year award. I sourced and selected global fund managers, including for an emerging market strategy with an overall allocation of over $100 million. Produced an in-depth white paper on economic and market dynamics in India. Additionally, handled portfolio risk monitoring.
