Anthemis is an investment and advisory firm focused on reinventing financial services for the 21st century. We work with a diverse group of customers and partners – from startups and venture capital firms to financial institutions – to catalyse and accelerate positive and disruptive change across the financial industry. As General Counsel of Anthemis Group my role includes managing and delivering on all areas of the Groups legal function. • Ensuring corporate functions of Group companies are appropriately up to date. • Covering all aspects of day to day group functions including matters in relation to employment, commercial property leases and liaising with regulators. • Delivering on the establishment of new business initiatives of the Group in a cost effective and commercially sensitive manner. • Working with the commercial teams on client engagements covering all aspects of confidentiality, intellectual property, warranties, indemninities and limiting any potential liability for the relevant Group company. • Managing external counsel and advisors at a global level to deliver on internal and external projects in a manner that is timely and on budget.
Interim Legal Counsel

Alongside my role with the Anthemis Group, I was interim legal counsel to Apis Partners and its inaugural fund, Apis Growth Fund I, LP. Established the Fund in all aspects including structuring, appointing of advisors, applying for FCA authorisation for the manager, working with external counsel on documentation and negotiating with early investors. My role was to ensure that the fund was up and running before handing over to Apis' new permanent legal counsel.
