The firm is dedicated to tackling big challenges in climate change and sustainability via over 500 venture transactions and five third-party investment mandates. My sector expertise is in the field of advanced materials and processes. Based in Toronto, I co-lead our sustainable packaging practice at Emerald. and am involved in all phases of the investment process: sourcing, evaluating, selecting and supporting novel sustainable technology start-ups and passionate entrepreneurs from early diligence to exit. I am also delighted to support the open innovation initiatives of some of the world's leading corporate partners.

-Designed and synthesized multifunctional nano, meso, & micro-particles for in-vivo and in-vitro sensing with magnetic, electronic and optical properties conjugated with fluorescent markers and DNA in multi-pole initiatives with funding in excess of $20M. -Directed students in industrially relevant research projects resulting in published articles (Lab Chip, Soft Matter) and presentations in international conferences (MRS, ACS) -Prepared functional polymeric surfaces by nanoimprint lithography with motifs ranging from sub-50 nm to 10 mm. -Reviewed National Science and Engineering Research Council Discovery and Department of Foreign Affairs GPX grants.
