Firefly is an IoT Startup disrupting the travel industry with a platform to allow any luggage brand to launch their own "smart" line. As a very early team member and co-founder, I was involved in both business and product side of the company defining the company business model and leading the product development from abstract concept to fully functional prototype. Business (Strategy and BD): • Redefined value proposition for final consumer and brands using a Design Thinking approach. The new value proposition for brands was instrumental to secure the first brand partnerships. • Clarified the business model defining the three key revenue streams (Product, service subscription and data) and optimized it for growth and scalability using a B2B go-to market strategy opportunity identified after analyzing the complete industry value chain. • Lead role building the financial model of the company and strong involvement in the investors presentation as well as actual pitches. Product • Defined whole technical infrastructure (Hw, Sw and Telecom) and interfaces between components. Leveraged personal network to identify key outsourcing partners and negotiate strategic partnerships with telecom operators and strategic suppliers. • Established agile methodology to coordinate 5 teams (2x ID, Hw, Firmware and Mobile app) with approx 20 people in three locations to complete a fully functional prototype in four 2 week iterations. • Leaded strategic collaboration with Huawei to build NB-IoT use case with successful launch during Hong Kong Mobile Broadband Forum (http://www.huawei.com/minisite/hwmbbf15/en/how-can-we-enable-the-connected-traveller.html).
