In 2009 Mr. Hakim earned the Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation from the CCIM Institute, one of the leading commercial real estate associations in the world. The CCIM designation is awarded to commercial real estate professionals upon successful completion of a graduate-level education curriculum and presentation of a portfolio of qualifying experience. The curriculum addresses financial analysis, market analysis, user decision analysis, and investment analysis, the cornerstones of commercial investment real estate. CCIMs are recognized experts in commercial real estate brokerage, leasing, asset management, valuation, and investment analysis.

The Solar Energy Consortium is an industry-led not-for-profit, formed in 2007 and is funded by grants from the DOE, DOD and SBA. It currently has ten employees and has administered over $20M in research grants. Its mission is to aid Global High Tech Manufacturers and create a solar R&D and manufacturing cluster in New York State. TSEC brings together over 70 industry, academic, and economic development partners to find solutions to the technical, economic, and marketing challenges facing Global Tech Manufacturing. As a charter board member Paul is responsible for financial and corporate development activities related to the implementation and ongoing operations of the consortium. His personal focus is on Renewables Project Development, Tax Equity Finance and the underlying Power Purchase Agreements.

Mr. Hakim was Co-founder and Director of OWNX, a Boston and San Francisco based start-up business-to-business marketing services company targeting Fortune 500 corporations. The firm’s product offerings enabled corporations to offer customers Equity in the participating brand-named company in exchange for purchases and loyalty. As an integral part of the startup management team he defined the business model and developed the patented technology and specific business processes for their Customer-Owner loyalty program. In addition, while directing the corporate development activities of the firm, he successfully raised four rounds of Private placements and Venture Capital. He also negotiated multi-million dollar operational relationships and successfully launched a new mutual fund with key business partners. These operational partners included State Street Global Advisors, Boston Financial Data Services, Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC), and ALPS Mutual Fund Services. Other duties included coordinating all outside legal counsel work relating to intellectual property, trademark, regulatory issues and regulatory compliance.
