Managing General Partner / Founder
2017 - Current
After building defining companies and achieving close to 2bn in enterprise value as founder CEOs across our four investing partners, we wanted to build the firm that didn’t quite exist for us. We are building a different kind of venture firm that can be the blueprint for others behind us. The kind that helps to smooth a seemingly unsmoothable path for founders. More than investing capital, we are investing our systems, learnings, time, curated resources, and most importantly the finesse and steady-resilient hand that is hard-earned.We built storied companies in our industries, as founder CEOs, a uniquely special role. We became connectors, who turned heads with our generosity and care for our founders’ journeys, during our pilot funds. Our incredible team is backing founders who share our ethos and resilience, who are building Applied AI companies in markets that the companies we founded helped to make and remake over multiple cycles: Media, Martech, Commerce, and Fintech

Venture Partner
2016 - 2018
Continuing a journey of learning in Venture Capital, I joined BRV (long one of my favorite teams), to get an understanding of how a smaller fund runs. I enjoyed getting much closer to the operations and management of the firm. My main role was looking at and opining on deals within the realtime data thesis, and accessing my extensive network of relationships, where there was value for all parties. The partners there, John Malloy, Jonathan Ebinger and Cheryl Cheng were engaging and generous with their expertise and time, helping me to learn the trade while also helping us conceive of and launch Grit Capital Partners. During this time, I also pitched in to advise CEOs in the portfolio on executive presence, go-to-market strategies, recruiting marketing and sales leaders, among other topics.
Venture Advisor
2014 - 2016
As a Venture Advisor/Venture Partner in the technology group, I was invited to join the firm after having delivered significant returns to the fund from their investment in Millennial Media. During this time, I advised both east coast and west coast Investing Partners on deals specific to software, marketing technology, and commerce. Worked with several portfolio CEOs on ad monetization, app economy, SAAS pricing, recruiting and management matters. I assisted early diligence on deals; PlaceIQ, Wallapop (Letgo), Plated, Duolingo. I was active with the NEA's Seed program leading to investments from the program. At NEA, I was exposed to all of the firms partners, and developed a passion to learn the business of venture capital. Key influencers for me inside the firm were Patrick Kerins, Tony Florence, Harry Weller, and Dayna Grayson. I wanted to learn how the large firms operated, then immerse in a smaller firm.
