    In the delivery of food, the transport temperature is an important parameter, critical to product quality and hygienic requirements. For bulk long-distance transports already today temperature sensors and loggers are used. In case of severe temperature transgression, the cargo needs to be scrapped. We have developed a very small sensor unit and an automated cloud system to improve the delivery of perishable goods on the last mile. Instead of one system for logistics planning and one system for product quality monitoring, we have created a holistic approach to assure best product quality at lowest delivery costs. For this, each relevant cargo unit is equipped with our sensor. The sensors send their data to the cloud either via a gateway or simply using the smartphone of the driver as gateway. With these data, the remaining safe transport time is calculated in the cloud. If the remaining safe transport time is longer than the planned transport time, the delivery process is optimized regarding delivery costs. If the remaining safe transport time is shorter than the currently planned transport time, the system optimizes the logistic planning, taking into account customer time windows, to generate a new planning that assures that the cargo arrives within the required temperature limits.

    • Executed a broad array of functions in support of this project, led by a joint venture of five international companies, to design and build a 6.5 km long underground section underneath the centre of Old and New Delhi, with a focus on the Delhi Metro Project Phase -2 BC-18 lot • Executed tunnel construction as an operator of the tunnel boring machine and other methods • Generated TBM reports and maintained TBM; launched and disassembled TBM • Managed the design of the cross passage tunnel by NATM, as well as in-situ concreting inside the tunnel and the rail track bed inside the main tunnel • Gained invaluable experience with tunneling machinery and procedures
