  • Founder coach and Growth Consulting

    2018

You're a founder. You are giving everything you have to your company. You find yourself always selling (fundraising, partnerships, recruiting, PR, etc). You don't know whom to let your guard down with --- whom to be vulnerable and real with, whom to call when things aren't rosy and the sky is falling. I've worked with many founders deeply across all sectors. You're the sector expert, I'm the generalist with extreme founder empathy. We can work together on Nx-ing your numbers using whatever needle it takes (Product, Data, Design, Partnerships, Team Leader coaching, people strengths and role alignment using MBTI and Jungian cognitive functions, being Wendy from Billions, Introductions, Word choice coaching with applications to make you and your team more effective in Fundraising, Messaging, Marketing and Sales, etc). Psychological techniques like CBT, ACT and Motivational Interviewing are also used. My biggest strength --- using the Socratic method to ask the right questions and be your trusted sounding board. The right answers will present themselves when we're solving for the right questions. And you need a good balance of your biggest cheerleader (when others aren't getting you) and your biggest check-and-balance (when others may be excessively cheering you on without thoughtfully caring about whether your current path is the most effective way to your intended destination). Let's chat.

  • Founder

    2014 - 2014

Immediately after floods hit the Jammu & Kashmir region hard in September '14, I built a web platform to help families find and locate loved ones by enabling families to post Mission Person Reports and enabling rescuers to post Found Person Reports. I also implemented a comprehensive matching, messaging and alert system in the backend. Built the entire platform end to end in 10 days time. (HTML, CSS, Javascript, JQuery, PHP using Laravel, Nginx using Homestead, mySQL) Reached out to the Ministry of Home affairs, NDRF and Army hotlines. Reached out to the Police station incharges of affected flood areas to ask them to use it, and understand further scenarios. Adapted to the Assam and Meghalaya floods which happened within a month's time as well, after seeing requests from my social media CDRF campaign asking me to do that. Quickly realized I needed to pivot to a larger issue : coordinating donation activities. - Relief after a disaster hits is a short term process, but Rehabilitation is a much longer term activity and also the one more overlooked and forgotten. - People donate food and clothes for a couple of months after a major disaster happens. That only helps with the immediate short term needs of the affected. - Often too much short term donation is counter productive - there is only so much dal and rice one can eat. But no one (including the various officials in charge) is advising people on what to donate as and how the needs on the ground change in real-time. - No tracking of donation deliveries. Most donators do not know if what they donated even reached someone in need and actually helped them out. I have currently put this project on the backburner because I structured it as an NGO and need to raise donation funds to keep this going. I will return to this when either I can put aside my own funds towards this or start a donation raising campaign. If you're interested in working on this project with me, do reach out.
