Great North Ventures (www.greatnorthventures.com) is a Minnesota based venture capital fund focused on helping startup founders with our capital, network and time. We invest in early stage rounds (from idea to Series B, but primarily with first check in pre-seed/seed). The startups can be from any industry. Our fund is managed by founders with previous exits and includes support by advisers in the region as well as in Silicon Valley.

We invest in early-stage startups using breakthrough technologies to innovate industries dominated by inefficient processes.

After several years successfully running our own software companies, Ryan Weber and I created a family office called 32 Degrees to support up and coming entrepreneurs (through direct early-stage investments as well as backing other early-stage fund managers) and to invest in real estate. We appreciate the support we had from early angel investors at our prior company. The capital investment was nice but more valuable was their relationships, encouragement, business savvy, and leadership. Now we hope we can pass along some of our good fortune to others as excited about entrepreneurship as we have always been. 32 Degrees supported companies: eBureau (now owned by TransUnion)/TruSignal- Predictive Analytics and Data Solutions Neurotic Media (now owned by Peloton)- Music download shop services for brick & mortar merchants FieldNation (funded by Susquehanna Growth Equity)- Technician workforce management solutions Zencoder (now owned by Brightcove)- Live and cloud file transcoding Optimine- Measure your media ROI cross-channel Pouncer Media (now owned by BigDish PLC) - Last minute deals, first class restaurants LeagueSafe (now owned by Sports Hub Technologies)- Collect dues for fantasy leagues HomeSpotter (now owned by LoneWolf)- Creating conversation around home searches Interior Define- Custom furniture direct Kidizen- Kids merchandise resale marketplace PartySlate- Luxury Event Ideas, Inspiration, Event Pros Network Arena (GetArena.co) - Enriched sports experience in the moment (UFC, etc.) Branch (branchapp.com)
