Broad Street Angels is a Union League affinity club. It is a member-led investors network focusing on early stage, high-growth businesses in the Mid-Atlantic region, as a means of growing the region’s economy, retaining and attracting talent and fostering innovations that strengthen our civic infrastructure. The Broad Street Angels was founded to respond to demand by Union League members for a way to identify & assess early-stage investment opportunities; generate financial returns to members; engage the League’s 3,600 active members’ business, intellectual, & financial resources; connect emerging innovators & business leaders with the League; and, support free enterprise by investing in entrepreneurs who are defining tomorrow’s economy.

  • Chairman and CEO

    2000 - 2015

I am a CPA and served as the Chairman and CEO of the Parente Beard/Baker Tilly accounting and advisory firm before retiring in 2015 to pursue other interests. During my tenure as chairman and CEO, we (I had an amazing team) transitioned the firm from a Pennsylvania practice to a multi-state super-regional firm: The firm’s revenues grew from $30M to $200M through organic growth, introductions of new services and strategic acquisitions. In 2014, we orchestrated a merger of the Parente Beard and Baker Tilly Virchow Krause firms to create the 12th largest US accounting and advisory firm.
