Head of Growth, Product (acquired 2018!)
2013 - 2021
Led growth across all channels (Paid/SEM, SEO/content marketing, Partner/Biz Dev, PR, etc.) on a bootstrapped budget from $1m GMV to $20m GMV to an eventual successful exit. Involved in every major decision of HireAHelper's construction since joining. Conceived, initiated and executed some of our most consequential company-wide initiatives. Led consumer product marketing and consumer experience constantly balancing SEO and CRO in order to build in demand gen to our product. Owned the growth budget and strategy. Built scaling growth models and forecasts from scratch for internal use and fundraising / acquisitions. Unit economics focused (LTV to CAC to Contribution Margin). Built synergy models for M&A targets. Started with a team of 1 and built to a team of 12 in-house plus dozens of contractors. Pulled resources and influenced cross-departmentally when necessary---e.g. when demand and marketing couldn't move forward without brand and product improvement, I built a mini-product team of designers and product managers within our team. Led a complete rebrand and revamp of our site. (Secretly, my heart and my passion belongs to content marketing.)
Director of Business Development
2010 - 2018
I parachuted into trade shows with my Who's Who list of targets and infiltrated the industry. I was "in-the-neighborhood" when I wasn't more times than I can count. I let them win at golf...and bowling. I learned their favorite sports teams, family vacation spots and preferred poison. I reverse engineered their profit per unit so I knew how much of an impact our service could make on their business. I learned the incumbent's weaknesses, but never mentioned them directly. I made pitch decks that let them dream and take over the meeting. I drove development internally across product, ops and marketing to build what they needed. In short, I'm a professional stalker who genuinely cares about making a positive impact in your personal and professional life, your bottom line and your customers' experience.
