I served as the only student representative on two committees at Fort Bend ISD: College and Career Readiness Steering Committee: The committee's charter was to develop the 2020 Vision for College and Career Readiness in Fort Bend ISD. Committee participants included business leaders, educators, parents, and students (myself). The vision was focused around integrating principles and practices that promoted college and career readiness into the existing curricula of Fort Bend ISD schools. Career and Technical Education Advisory Committee: The purpose of the committee was to assess the current state of Career and Technical Education in our district, and to provide recommendations for improvement. Vocational training and certifications were specific areas of focus.
