Started the organization in 2015 as outgrowth of work I had been doing since 2013 to educate the investment community on sustainability. SILC works with all players in the investment ecosystem, including corporations, asset allocators, attorneys and accountants to understand, measure and integrate sustainability best practices into business growth strategies by aligning economic opportunities with environmental, social and governance stewardship. We believe sustainability means understanding the complete business and its stakeholders and that focusing on risk management and long-term value creation just makes good business sense. SILC's vision is to educate, encourage and expand the understanding of sustainability and the impact is has on profitability based on policy, measurability and standards. SILC organizes an annual sustainability conference with luminaries in integrated reporting, impact investing, technology, diversity and inclusion, supply chain, corporate management and other relevant areas of sustainability-driven organizations. Our sister organization, SILC Club, focuses on next gen sustainability leaders and holds monthly educational events and discussions.
