Entrepreneur-in-Residence (EIR) to spin out a #dualuse #venture that developed #AirSeq, a rapid #DNA #airsequencing technology for agnostic biological threat detection. The technology was developed by the Natural History Museum & Earlham Institute, culminating 10+ years of R&D. The AirSeq technology, a combination of novel molecular biology sequencing methods and bespoke bioinformatics, enables the sequencing of DNA from any organism found in the air. The technology is capable of highly accurate, near real-time identification of bacteria, viruses, fungi, pollen or any other biological material, with a low false positive rate of <1 in 10 million. Possible use cases are found in biosecurity, vertical farming and green houses, public & clinical health and environmental monitoring.
