May 2017 - May 2020 I led Airbnb’s Homes engineering team, the core business covering areas such as Core Host, Prohost, Guest, Growth, Lux, Plus, Airbnb for Work, Market Dynamics. This was a team of 400+ engineers across all parts of the stack. I was also responsible for the cross functional Homes Platform team which included efforts around scaling efficiently, inclusively and responsibly. Some highlights: - Doubled the Homes engineering team between 2017 and 2019. - Strong partnership with recruiting bringing in senior engineering leaders. - Built out the TPM team for Homes. - Advocate for having a strong technical foundation focusing on a services oriented architecture, performance and data quality. - Saw the company grow from 60->1500 engineers. Nov 2016 - May 2017 Led the 100+ engineer Marketplace Conversion team. This included the product, infrastructure and machine learning models to power our Search, Pricing and Booking teams. I also managed the Core Models team which is building out services to manage the data all teams use e.g. listing, user, reservations. July 2014 - Nov 2016 Engineering Manager leading the Search & Discovery and Application Infrastructure teams. July 2013 - June 2014 Software Engineer on the Search team.

April 2011 - present: Joined Ramanathan Guha's team as a founding member to build a stateful task-based search experience. The recommendations and personalization systems built became a part of Google Now (predictive search). - Led the real estate card launch for Google Now: http://officialandroid.blogspot.com/2013/02/new-google-now-more-of-information-you.html - Worked on the research card for Google Now: http://officialandroid.blogspot.com/2012/12/new-google-now-perfect-travel-companion.html (suggesting websites for you to explore as you research things to do) July 2007 - Apr 2011: Part of the Search Quality / Web Ranking team where I worked on improving the relevance of search results. - Launched several changes to improve the search results for users outside the US by taking their location and languages they speak into account. Google gets more than 50% of its search traffic from outside the US. - Launched ranking changes accounting for local information that is relevant for the city/state a user is in. - Worked with webmasters and led the project to launch new guidelines: http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.com/2010/09/unifying-content-under-multilingual.html
