    Helped turn this Venezuelan start-up into a Multi-National Corporation with operations in six countries and students in more than 30. In four years helped take the Company from less than $50,000 to over $50M in Revenue and from 20 people to over 2000. Raised over $100M in equity and debt capital. Oversaw Legal, Accounting and Tax, Finance, HR and Business Development. Responsible for call center operations for sales and service (over 1000 agents in 3 countries) and Live Instruction department. Member of the marketing committee, oversaw media strategy prior to hiring CMO.

    2002 - 2010

    Helped build this sustainable forestry company in Mexico from founding to over 5,000 acres producing teak hardwood lumber and finished products for the international market. Successful IPO on the Mexican Bolsa in July 2010

  • CEO / Owner

    2005 - 2009

    Restructured, and then grew to 19 retail stores and 7 mobile check cashing vans offering neighborhood financial services. Successfully rolled out new products such as Western Union, PayDay Loans, prepaid debit cards, etc. to grow beyond existing check cashing services. Achieved same store sales growth of more than 50% per year. Purchased the business in an MBO and then later sold to a larger competitor.
