  • Executive Producer, Veteran's Playbook

    2016 - Current

    GCSEN Foundation is a non-profit education foundation focused on moving the world to a better place by inspiring US active military and veterans to consider launching their own veteran venture. We do this through Veteran's Playbook, a new TV show airing on Destination America Wednesday's 8pm ET Oct 4 - Dec 20. Each episodes tells the compelling story of a veteran entrepreneur.

    2015

    Led an effort to start the Hudson Valley Startup Fund (HVSF) which was launched in the fall of 2015. HVSF is the first managed seed capital fund supporting the seven counties in the Hudson Valley region just north of New York City. HVSF brings together 62 well respected business leaders/angel investors with entrepreneurs to support local, high growth startups in the critical early stage of development. HVSF provides entrepreneurs with seed capital, mentors and a valuable network of resources locally, nationally and internationally. We have made 15 investments to date totaling $4M.

  • Entrepreneur In Residence

    2017 - 2022

    Co-founded the Hudson Valley Venture Hub with the Dean, School of Business. The Venture Hub is focused on increasing connections, communication, and collaboration across the HV entrepreneur ecosystem. We are bringing together over 125 leaders who directly support HV entrepreneurs, over 500 entrepreneurs, and the broader ecosystem, including services providers.

  • Adjunct Professor

    2018 - 2019

    Teaching Entrepreneurship and Business Planning, an undergraduate and graduate level course focused on development of a credible and compelling investor pitch deck and business plan. The course prepares student entrepreneurs for a class business plan competition, and the Mid Hudson Regional Business Plan Competition, potentially leading to competition at the New York State Business Plan Competition.

    Coached and collaborated with entrepreneurs and start-up companies to accelerate their business success, through the Cloud Computing and Analytics Center Incubator. Began the early stages of creating a vibrant startup ecosystem in the Hudson Valley. My areas of entrepreneurial support included: business strategy, business plans, business models, funding strategies, marketing plans, and solution strategies.

    2000 - 2009

    Founder and President of NavAgility, an innovative online career management and talent management software start-up company. Developed an innovative Natural Roles coaching method that helps people identify their most powerful roles in order to find, create, or design best fit work, resulting in greater career success, and a happier, more satisfying work life. Coached hundreds of professionals in their pursuit of more satisfying work. Developed innovative software that visualizes the actual career paths people have taken, resulting in a compelling visual profile. Customers of the software included 25 top universities such as NYU, Rutgers, Penn State, and UPenn. These universities made the software available to their alumni and was regarded as one of their most effective loyalty programs.

    1999 - 2000

    Managed the worldwide Knowledge Management Project Office responsible for developing an integrated marketing strategy and communications campaign across IBM (Lotus, Software Group, Watson Research, Global Services, internal business units). Responsible for business operations and marketing for the IBM Institute of Knowledge Management.

    1997 - 1998

    Leadership role in building a new global Knowledge Management consulting practice. Designed, developed, and delivered Knowledge Management consulting classes. Facilitated the emergence of a global IBM Knowledge Management community, including over 450 people in consulting, sales and product development.

  • Global Finance Industry Brand Manager

    1996 - 1997

    Increased adoption of Parallel Sysplex across finance industry. Developed and delivered a highly innovative parallel sysplex multi-media marketing campaign to top executives at the largest retail banks across the world.

  • Solution Manager

    1992 - 1995

    Identified, developed and delivered a new Server Group software solution targeting the finance industry. Developed the business plan and strategy for the solution that led to $20 million in funding over three years. Led the software development across teams in Poughkeepsie and Germany, and led the worldwide announcement and marketing programs.

  • Marketing Rep -- Marketing Manager

    1983 - 1992

    Three years as account marketing support representative responsible for developing and delivering an integrated demonstration including twelve IBM products. Four years as advisory marketing representative with responsibility for competitive sales across NY Process Branch Office, and as lead sales rep for Mobil Oil data centers, worldwide. Three years as marketing manager of a sales team covering PaineWebber and Smith Barney and responsible for executive marketing to top executives in those firms. Numerous 100% Clubs and multi-million dollar competitive wins.

    Designed large systems hardware including an innovative expanded storage memory controller included in mainframes for the first time.
