    Jambool operates Social Gold -- the leading online virtual goods monetization platform. I founded Jambool in 2006, and over 3+ years have led the company through several product iteractions, and two rounds of venture funding and the eventual acquisition by Google. We've hired some of the best engineers, sales and marketing teams from Amazon.com, Yahoo! and Electronic Arts. At Social Gold, over the years I've spent time on all fronts inluding sales, marketing, engineering, though product has been a particular area I've directly influenced. The biggest achievement for me has been in hiring some of the best talent to create the best product and innovate in an extremely competitive space. In the early iterations of the company, we built an independent site for social collaboration and also created very successful social applications -- used by 20M+ users from around the world.

    Along with a handful of engineers and a couple of other leaders, started the Amazon India development center. Built and led the engineering organization. I led the product development and hiring for Amazon India, growing the product team to over 40 engineers, and the office employee strength to 100 people. I spoke at Linux Bangalore 2004, and spoke at several college campuses during recruiting events, including the IITs and ISB.

    Led the innovation, design and development for Amazon Flexible Payments Web Service(released in 2006). Worked directly with the CEO, Jeff Bezos, on the product design and strategy. Hired the team and led the recruiting across several groups. Led the product transition to the new India office. Filed several patents for the Flexible payments web service.     I grew and led a team of stellar engineers to manage the payments platform at Amazon.com. Introduced several key product innovations to further the platform strategy at Amazon, including gift certificates redesign, third party gift card and value card integrations, and international payments.

  • Software Development Engineer

    1999 - 2001

    Redesigned the core Payments processing platform for Amazon and launched one of the first service architectures in the company. The platform scaled to process every single transation for Amazon.com worldwide. It was launched in 2000, and is still in operation, as of March 2006.

    Worked on multicast based data transfer and control protocols for disseminating content over satellite networks.
